This piece is part of a three-part personal campaign exploring the idea that every mood, moment, and personality has a flavor match. Built around the tagline “A Soda for Every Side of You,” the series challenged me to interpret Olipop through three distinct visual styles: illustrative, collage/live action, and 3D.
This spot represents the illustrative direction, where I explored two contrasting flavors by reimagining them as characters within a playful, stylized world. Each flavor was translated into a distinct personality, using motion and expression to bring them to life.
As my first deep dive into character animation, I focused on staying true to Olipop’s established color palettes, branding, and packaging while pushing into a more expressive, character-driven approach.
The goal of this piece was to reinforce the idea that there’s an Olipop flavor for every occasion—inviting the audience to see themselves reflected in each character and, by extension, each drink.

Final Character Animation
For the character animation, I began in RoughAnimator, creating a frame-by-frame pass to explore the character’s movement and establish timing. This initial animation served as a reference for refining motion and performance.
I then brought the sequence into Adobe After Effects, where I built a character rig using Duik. By creating controllers for key joints and points of motion, I was able to translate the hand-drawn animation into a more flexible, keyframe-driven system—allowing for cleaner adjustments while preserving the original expressiveness of the performance.
